Fixated
Stare... blink... chin on my palm... now write something, please... uhmm... Aww, I think I'm fixated at what this blog has in it, re-reading the previous posts - a total of 4 for the past two years ha-hah!
I feel I do not know how to write anymore :( What has happened? Been pre-occupied with the so-called "advances in technology" - - there's Facebook, the iPod Touch overloading with soooo many apps - the iBooks & ebooks, and games [regular favorites are Plock, iJewels, Racer] - and then comes another system, the Android. Hah, but it was cut-off abruptly, with my 3-month old Archos internet tablet lost, ahu-hu-hu -- left it in a taxicab last Friday morning, haaaaay... considered it lost, along with the Belkin charger and sync cable for the iPod, although I'm also making some effort at tracing it. Had the plate number of the Jesman taxi traced thru the cctv of the BTC Bldg, searched for some information in the internet about Metro Manila taxicabs - actually posted a call for help at the comment portion of the infotaxi website.
But there's some amazing thing here: I'm not really feeling the loss. It's as if I'm above this thing. Ah, how do I articulate that? Maybe, it's the result of not being attached to one's material possessions. And the thought that when you lose something, another something bigger or more valuable is coming - yes, all these by God's amazing, bountiful graces. Amen!

Hello :) amazing to realize I still have a blog here... whew! It is almost the middle of the year 2010, and the Philippines has a new president-apparent/frontrunner in the person of Noynoy Aquino, after the first-ever automated election last May 10. And yes, things seem to connect in one way or another.
This blog was created, er, revived, in August of last year, at the height of the Cory yellows upon her death. And as a sort of an aftermath, the clamor for Noynoy to accept endorsements for his candidacy to the presidency.
I am reminded of the words from The Alchemist - all the universe conspire to grant the desires of your heart.

Saved by Mrs. Winterbourne
Ahh. . . my second post, at last! It should have been better if it were yesterday, Sept. 11. Why? Well, the first blog was Aug. 21, a date that is nationally and historically significant - the day Ninoy Aquino was shot to death at the airport tarmac, and also the time of the Plaza Miranda bombing - but of course, separated by some 12 years (1983 and 1971). . . and Sept. 11, that was the infamous 9/11 bombing in the US, but it's also the birthday of the famous Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
Enough of the should have beens ha-ha-ha. . . it's a Saturday, a cloudy and quite rainy day. I woke up with a throb in my head, an impending headache and a heavy lazy feeling. Just thankful that it's a non-working day else I'll be late again or worse, on sick leave.
But thanks to the movies on cable TV: HBO's "Mrs. Winterbourne", and Star Movies' "My Mom's New Boyfriend" - - they sort of saved my day. Brandon Fraser, Shirley McLaine and one Selma Hais star on Mrs. Winterbourne. It's a case of borrowed identities due to some train accident involving two pregnant women. Connie Doyle, the one who's had an irresponsible boyfriend, happened to be on the same train as the Winterbourne couple, the husband that of Brandon's character whose wife is also pregnant. Fate has it that just before the accident, Mrs. Winterbourne showed Connie her wedding ring which the latter tried to put on her finger - and at that point, the accident happened. . . in short, the Winterbourne couple died, but Connie has the identity of Mrs. Winterbourne, as she woke up in the hospital with a newborn baby boy - baby Winterbourne. . .
Much as she would like to explain to everyone about the mistaken identities, the chain of circumstances prevented her from doing so. She was chauffered to the Winterbourne place, there to find Grace, the mother of Mr. Winterbourne, and Bill, the identical twin of the dead Mr. Winterbourne who she learned now was named Hugh - and the name Grace later gave the baby. . . now, that's all for now for this blog - - this is already quite long. For you who happened to be caught in the story, well, I hope you still can catch the movie on HBO, or maybe you can buy its VCD on sale (or maybe a pirated DVD ha-ha!!). I hope to continue this later, promise (?).
All I can say for now is, in all that happens in our life, there is always a reason, a very good reason.

This is my first ever entry here in this blog from the time it was created way way back, what, 3 yrs ago. . . how's that! Maybe I really didn't know how and what to make of this - how to go about it, and the matter of sustaining it, on a regular basis.
Today is a non-working holiday - Ninoy Aquino day - commemorating his 26th death anniversay. But this year, it is made more meaningful due to the recent death of her wife and former President Cory. It is now termed "Araw ng Dilaw" (Day of Yellow).
Ninoy & Cory's eldest apo Jiggy Aquino-Cruz is maintaining a blog which many Cory fans followed specially during the days of mourning, from her death in the early morn of Aug. 1 til her funeral of Aug. 5. . . and this I can say is what inspired me to revive my own blog . . . after reading Jiggy's posts in his own blog. . . thanks, Jiggy, for that. . .
